Description

The Heat Pump System basically works on Vapour Compression Refrigeration Cycle. It uses R-134a as a Refrigerant. Here, the refrigerant first enters the compressor. Due to compression, its pressure as well as temperature increases.

Then it goes to the condenser, where, it loses its latent heat to the fluid surrounding it ( Here, the cleaning solvent), the fluid temperature increases. The liquid refrigerant enters the drier/filter, then to the expansion device. It is throttled to lower pressure. Owing to this, its temperature also decreases.

The low temperature and low pressure refrigerant enters the evaporator, where, the heat from surroundings is absorbed. The refrigerant vaporises, and low pressure vapour enters compressor and the cycle repeats. The cycle is same as that of a refrigerator, but in this case, the objective is to heat a fluid / space by transferring heat from a lower temperature body with the help of a compression system.

Apart from the basic system components such as compressor, condenser, drier/filter, expansion device, and an evaporator,
controls such as HP/LP cut-out, thermostat (temperature controller); and flow switch are incorporated for trouble-free
operation of the system.
